But video evidence showed that the ball had just bounced before Handscomb’s fingers before it was collected by him.

Although Kohli left the pavilion following the decision made by the on-field umpire, Twitter was divided on the opinion-Was Kohli out or not out?

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh tweeted, “Kohli was out or not out? What do u say guys??.”

TV commentator and expert Harsha Bhogle pointed out the discrepancies in technology, saying that it isn’t fully accurate despite the technological advancements.

“The bottom line is that technology in such matters is inconclusive and will always be inconclusive because we are seeing a 3-dimensional event in 2 dimensions. And so the verdict tend to go with the on-field umpire,” read his tweet.

Former Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, who has been having his say on topics related to the series, referred to an earlier incident of a similar kind.

“One batsman walked the other didn’t, both out. Handscomb catch was soft out & went to third umpire given out, Rahul catch given out on field hazelwood walked no questions. Scoreboard says out for both so happy with both decisions, ” he tweeted.
