OnePlus 6T phone launch teaser out; an Amazon India exclusive

Days after the launch of the much awaited brand-new iPhones, it is now time to shift our focus to the OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus is a popular Chinese smartphone maker and it has confirmed that OnePlus 6T, its next flagship smartphone that has been teased online at Amazon India. Amazon got in to the mode by putting up a teaser for the phone’s launch on its Notify Me.

The OnePlus 6T is rumoured to be launched on 17 October 2018. it is presumed to be a level up that its previous phone with features like an in-display fingerprint scanner and a smaller notch.

In case of its hardware, OnePlus 6T shares almost the smae specs as the Oppo R17 Pro. It is sparsely based on the latter. While the Oppo R17 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, whereas the OnePlus generally tends to go with whatever flagship chip Qualcomm is making at the time.

OnePlus 6T sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ display, up to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage and a 16 MP + 20 MP dual camera system on the rear.

In terms of hardware, we’re expecting to see the same specs as we’ve seen on the Oppo R17 Pro, on which the OnePlus 6T is expected to be based. What’s interesting is that the Oppo R17 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, while OnePlus generally tends to go with whatever flagship chip Qualcomm is making at the time. Could this be a response to the Xiaomi’s Poco F1, the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered phone in the world?

The OnePlus 6T TVC was aired during the cricket match being played between India vs Pakistan – Asia Cup 2018. The ad featuring its Brand Ambassador, Amitabh Bachchan. In the ad, he hinted the in-display fingerprint sensor on the device calling it ‘a cooler way to unlock your phone’. He further stated that OnePlus 6T is coming. The ad also featured two slogans – ‘Touch for innovation’ and ‘Ready for speed’
