The former president of the National Medical Association (IMA), Dr. KK Aggarwal breathed his last on Monday evening. He succumbed to a COVID-19 infection. As per the media reports, the 62-year-old renowned cardiologist passed away at around 11:30 PM at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. He was honored with the Dr. B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category in 2005 and he is also the recipient of Padma Shri.

An official statement on his passing away has been posted on his Twitter handle. The read statement said, “Even during the pandemic, he made constant efforts to educate the masses and was able to reach out to 100 million people through numerous videos and educational programs and saved countless lives. He wanted his life to be celebrated and not mourned.”
