On Sunday i.e August 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ speech. He talked about self-reliant India and urged young entrepreneurs to develop computer games in the country. He spoke urged nitizens to be ‘vocal about local toys’, as Indian’s can take the toys to International Market. Not just that PM also highlighted that the percentage of usage of Indian made mobile apps have been increased post the ban on few foreign applications.

  1. PM Modi started of his speech taking about the festival of Onam. He said, “Onam festival is being celebrated with gaiety and fervour. This festival arrives in the month of Chingam. During this period, people buy new things, decorate their homes and prepare Pookalam to the enjoy Onam-Saadiya. Variety of games, competitions are being held, as a part of celebrations. The festival has reached international level.”
  2. I urge our start-up to ‘Team up for Toys’, this also matches our call for Vocal for Local. I urge our young brothers to make games in India and also on India,” said Prime Minister.
  3. We have many different applications that are made in the country – like ‘Koo’ for microbloging and ‘Chingari’ – and these are gaining popularity.”
  4. “India will complete its 75 years of Independence in 2022 and suggested a host of measures to teachers to help bring to light contributions of thousands and lakhs of ‘unsung heroes’ of the freedom struggle. It is important that our youngsters are aware of them,” he added further.
  5. September should be observed as a ‘nutrition month’, says PM Modi. He highlighted that the correct amount of nutrition received during childhood ensures a child’s proper physical and mental development and health. On September 5, we will celebrate Teachers’ Day. I am happy how teachers and students are working together to develop innovations during the tough times. “Our teachers have faced many challenges but they have been brave and have adapted to technological changes.”
  6. We have many different mobile applications that are made in the country – like ‘Koo’ for microbloging and ‘Chingari’ – and these are gaining popularity. “Under the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat App innovation challenge, there is an App ‘#KutukiKids Learning app. This is an interactive app for children in which they can easily learn many aspects of maths, science through songs and stories,” he added.
