The Telugu version of Prasthanam was the story of a politician and the complex relations prevailing in his family. It had created a lot of buzz in the Telugu industry and had also won several awards. The movie featured Sharwanand, Sai Kumar, Sundeep Kishan and Ruby Parihar in lead roles.
The Hindi version that is being produced by Sanjay Dutt Productions also features Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Ali Fazal and Amyra Dastur in the lead roles.
Speaking about Prasthanam, director Deva Katta had told news agency PTI, “Sanjay Dutt got interested in the project, which was in 2011-2012 within one-two years of (its) release. In between he went to jail and then came back and the follow up (from their end) was passionate regarding the film. I was interested because of the intensity of interest from his side.”
It has been directed by Deva Katta and will release in theatres on September 20.
