On Wednesday evening, Jayveer along with actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s nephew and a common friend, had gone to play in a neighbouring building named Shiva Sthan. Four boys including Jayveer were playing on the premises of the building. For some reason, one of the boys punched Jayveer into his stomach and in return, he abused him saying ‘stupid’. The boy went to his house and informed his grandfather Arif Siddhiqui. The fumed Siddhiqui immediately reached on the ground floor where the kids were playing and vented out his anger on Jayveer. Siddhiqui threatened and abused Jayveer and told the security guard to throw him out of the building campus,” a source was quoted by Midday, said.

Aishwarya’s sister-in-law Shrima, who witnessed the incident later had to interfere to cool down things. But she was asked to mind her own business. She said, as quoted by midday, “There was scuffle among boys playing football on the ground. When I intervened, the elderly man tried to demean me. He was very very aggressive.”

Jayveer then narrated the entire incident to mother Preeti after he came back home with his brother. The 38-year old actress then waited for husband Parvin Dabas to return before she could take any action, said a source.

“She (Preeti) waited for the arrival of Parvin Dabas, who was out of station,” Midday quoted a source saying.

The duo registered a non-cognisable case of offence at the Khar police station against the old man who, when asked to produce himself before the police, said that he was in Borivali.

“We called him (Siddhiqui), he told us that he was in Borivali,” an officer said.

Jhangiani and her husband later told Midday that the boy didn’t want to eat food and was, ‘completely traumatised.’

She added, “But somehow we convinced him to attend his school.”
