Puri Didn’t Have Rs 50,000 In Hand Before ‘Ismart Shankar’: Reveals Charmme Kaur
Jagannadh donated Rs 50,000 each to 30 struggling assistant directors on the eve of his birthday.
Puri Jagannadh — an Indian filmmaker and writer — primarily works in Telugu cinema. Puri Jagannadh has recently directed and written Telugu film iSmart Shankar, which turned out to be a huge hit across the country.
Puri has recently made a sizeable donation to struggling assistant directors. According to Gulte.com, Jagannadh donated Rs 50,000 each to 30 struggling assistant directors on the eve of his birthday. His pre-birthday bash turned emotional as Puri’s production partner Charmmee Kaur revealed that they were in debts and facing financial troubles before iSmart Shankar released.
“Before Ismart Shankar happened, we did not have money. Not even 50,000 in our pocket. But Puri sir said one thing to me: Today we don’t have money, but one thing which we have is our health. Let’s write stories and bring finance, and make a movie. We will see what happens, it is what he said(sic),” Charmme revealed.
Speaking about the person who extended his helping hand to them, Kaur said that it was Ram Pothineni who trusted them and helped financially without enquiring about their financial condition. Thanking Ram Pthineni, Charmme said that we will always be thankful to him.
Notably, this is not the first time the reports of Puri facing financial problem surfaced. In 2018, he reportedly sold his luxurious palatial mansion in Jubilee Hills to clear some of his pending debts.
Puri’s million-dollar advise of not leaving hope and helping the struggling assistant director in Telugu Cinema is being widely appreciated now.
