1 Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi

The film is based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut from a screenplay by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and produced by Zee Studios. Kangana plays the title role in the film. In 2019, it had the highest first-day collection for any female-oriented film.

2 Uri: The Surgical Strike

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the 2016 Surgical Strikes accompanied by the Indian Army opposite the Pakistani terror launchpads across the Line of Control in Kashmir and released on11 January 2019. The film stars Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam in key roles and was one of 2019’s best releases.

3 Gold

Starring Akshay Kumar, Gold narrates the historic story of the Indian hockey team that won the first Olympic medal for the nation as an independent nation on August 12, 1948. Directed by Reema Kagti, the film features Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor and Sunny Kaushal in pivotal roles. The film released on August 15, 2019.

4 Raazi

Raazi is based on the actual story about an Indian spy who weds a Pakistan man during the Indo-Pakistan war in 1971. Sehmat (Alia Bhatt) is transferred to Pakistan to get any data she could, as the war between India and Pakistan was becoming threatening. The film released on May 11, 2019, and stars Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajit Kapur, Soni Razdan and Shishir Sharma.

5 Kesari

The movie Kesari is based on a soldier in the British Indian Army who leads 21 Sikh soldiers in a fight against 10,000 Pashtun attackers. However, what displays is the greatest last stand wars of all time. The film stars Akshay Kumar with Parineeti Chopra. 

6 Chak De India

Chak De India is based on the story of a retired player-turned-coach who instructs women hockey players to represent the Indian national team. The film delivered on August 10, 2007, and featured Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Sagarika Ghatge, Vidhya Maevade, Chitrashi Rawat, and Shilpa Shukla in pivotal roles.

7 Mangal Pandey: The Rising

Mangal Pandey: The Rising is an epic tale, that is set against the backdrop of the Indian Mutiny of 1857, which is a story of friendship, love, destruction, and disloyalty. The movie is based on the association of the Indian soldier and British commander William Gordon. The film released on August 12, 2005. It features Aamir Khan, Ameesha Patel and Rani Mukerji in pivotal roles.

8 Lakshya

Lakshya is one of the most inspirational films made in the industry. It is a story of a prosperous young man who knows the meaning of life after he becomes a soldier in the Indian army. The film released on June 18, 2004, and starred Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Om Puri, and Preity Zinta.

9 Lagaan

Lagaan is based on a story of a young farmer who manages a group of unlikely heroes and to fight the conflict not with arms but within a cricket competition. The film released on June 15, 2001, and stars Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, Rajesh Vivek, Yashpal Sharma, Rajendranath Zuthi and Akhilendra Mishra in the lead roles.

10 Border

Border is a story about a few Indian soldiers who protected the Longewala post against Pakistani tank troops along the border in 1971. The film stars Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna and Pooja Bhatt in pivotal roles. The film released on January 1, 1997.
