Rhea Chakraborty ‘not absconding’, to reach out to her ‘if required,’ says Patna Police

On Tuesday, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father Krishna Kishor Singh filed an FIR against actor Rhea Chakraborty and her family at Rajiv Nagar Police station in Patna. Following the FIR, there were reports stating that the actress has gone missing from her Mumbai residence and the Bihar Police are in the search for her.

However, now, a Patna police personnel confirmed that Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty is ‘not absconding.’ Speaking to Mid-Day, Vinay Tiwari, Central Patna SP said, “Aisa kuch nahin hai. At this point, we are not even trying to trace Miss Chakraborty. Preliminary enquiry is underway. There are certain basic facts that are being investigated, following which we will decide on the course of action. As, when and if she is required, we will get in touch with her.” 

Sushant Singh Rajput’s father’s lawyer, Vikas Singh, Ex-Addl Solicitor General, issued a statement on why it took so many days for the actor’s family to file an FIR. He said, “FIR registered now as family was in shock & Mumbai Police wasn’t registering FIR, but forcing them to give names of big production houses & get them involved. It was heading in a different direction,” reported ANI.

Chakraborty and five other individuals have been booked under IPC Section 306 (Abetment of suicide), sec 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), sec 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), sec 380 (theft in dwelling house), sec 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), and sec 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).
