Roohi Movie Synopsis:

Set in the backdrop of kidnapping, Roohi’s story takes us to the life of three main characters- Roohi Arora / Afzana Bedi (Janhvi Kapoor), Veer (Rajkummar Rao) and Raj (Varun Sharma). Roohi gets kidnapped by Rajkummar and his friend and they keep her at an haunted place. She soon gets possessed by a spirit, who abducts brides on their honeymoons and there’s probably a back story to the ghost life.

Apart from Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Sharma, this upcoming horror-comedy Roohi also features an ensemble cast such as Pankaj Tripathi, Seem Pahwa, Alexx O’Nell, Ronit Roy, Aamna Shariff including few others.

Release Date:

Roohi which was earlier titled as Roohi Afzana was slated to be released in theaters in March 2020. However, owning to the pandemic Coronavirus outspread the release date got delayed. It is finally releasing on March 11, 2021. The projects was announced on 29 March 2019 and filming kick started on June 14 2019.

Roohi Shooting Details:

After the producers announced this movie in March in 2019, Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma kick started shooting in Agra and few other locations in Northern India. The movie is co-produced under the banners of Jio Studios and Maddock Films. It is directed by Hardik Mehta.

Although Roohi’s release date got delayed due to pandemic widespread, its new release date is hailed as a potential audience puller at the box-office. This would become first big film to be release in cinema halls after the reopening of theaters to its full capacity.
