Russian couple split over Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo brawl

A Russian man has filed for divorce after an intense brawl with his wife over whether who is better, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. According to a newspaper ‘Argumento I Fakti’ the football fanatic Russian couple named Arsen and Lyudmila started having heated arguments when he celebrated Argentina’s victory over Nigeria.

He eventually decided to pack his belongings and leave when his wife continued to insist that Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo was a superior talent to Messi.

The biggest irony is that this couple had fallen in love when they met in a bar while watching the 2002 World Cup. The sport that got them together has become the reason for their separation.

“Since the beginning of the World Cup, she mocked Messi and said he couldn’t even score a penalty against Iceland. I could not contain myself and told her what I thought about the vain Ronaldo, the Portuguese national team and all the clubs she likes. Then I took my belongings and left her forever.”, Arsen said.

Arsen decided that the marriage was over and the next morning he filed for divorce at the courts of the city of Chelyabinsk in the Urals.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are said to be the best footballers on planet Earth. But both players had to taste defeat in the round of 16 as Portugal was defeated by Uruguay and Argentina lost 4-3 to France in the FIFA World Cup 2018.

The Russian couple would have been happier if they kept it simple and supported their own Football team which is doing brilliantly well at the big event. They knocked out the mighty Spanish side in a penalty shootout.
