Dear Comrade: Sai Pallavi Walked Out Of The Film Due to The Lip-Lock Scene?
Dear Comrade embroils in controversy due to lip lock scene between Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna
The trailer of the Tamil upcoming movie Dear Comrade received a good response from the audience. It features an intense lip-lock scene between the lead actors, Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Notably, Rashmika Mandanna’s role was supposed to play by Sai Pallavi. According to reports, Sai wasn’t comfortable with the kissing scene and decided to walk out of the film.
Sai Pallavi is considered as the most sought after actress who won 2 Filmfare Awards for Best actress. Her role in the movie Premam as Malar Miss won many hearts, since then there’s no stopping her. Many directors have signed her as the lead actress including Bharat Kamma for Dear Comrade. The intimate scene became a reason for Sai to kiss goodbye to this film.
As per the IBTimes report, Sai Pallavi was uncomfortable doing the intimate scene and was reluctant to be part of the sequence. Post she walked out of the film, the script landed in Rashmika’s hand. Given that the actress had no issues with the intimate scene, she accepted the offer and that’s how the casting happened.
On other hand, fans haven’t stopped talking about the lip-lock scene. While promoting his Dear Comrade in Bengaluru, Arjun Reddy star Vijay expressed his irritation with the word, “Lip-Lock.” He said, “I don’t like the word – lip-lock. You guys write about objectification….its kissing.. it’s an emotion like anger… when we cry it is an emotion, when we kiss it is an emotion and it’s not lip-locking… whenever I read lip-lock.. I’m like what the f**k…I really dislike it. [sic]”
Dear Comrade is set to release on 26th July, this year.
