Acharya: Salman Khan to play Prithviraj’s role in Lucifer Telugu remake?

Acharya — The remake of Mohanlal starrer Malayalam movie Lucifer —  has been in the news ever since it was announced that Telugu star Chiranjeevi to play the lead. In a recent media interaction, Chiranjeevi had confirmed that Acharya to be directed by Sujeetho, who had previously directed Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Sahoo.

There have been many speculations regarding the role of Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran, who played an important role in the Original film. No one is finalised to play Prithviraj in Lucifer remake as of yet. If anything to go by a report published in Tollywood.net, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will step into the shoes of Prithiviraj in Lucifer remake.

If this speculation turns out to be true, it would be interesting to watch Salman Khan and Chiranjeevi sharing the screen space together. While there’s no confirmation to the news as of now but Salman Khan — who is very close to Mega family — is likely to give his nod to play Prithiviraj in Lucifer remake.

The original film Lucifer — which turned out a massive hit at the box office — had Manju Warrier playing the female lead. In the Telugu version of Lucifer, the role of Priyadarshini Ramdas will be portrayed by none other than Kajal Aggarwal.

Earlier, it was reported that Trish Krishnan was approached to play female lead in Acharya but she walked out of the project citing creative differences with the makers.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently busy with Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai which was scheduled to release Eid this year. However, considering the ongoing lockdown situation to curb the growing spread of the coronavirus, the release date of Radhe will be postponed.

Acharya is being produced by Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainments while the film’s music will be composed by Mani Sharma.
