Modi biopic producer Sandip Ssingh asks Mamata Banerjee to stop being ‘Female Dawood of Bengal’

The Supreme Court has today granted bail to BJP worker Priyanka Sharma over meme on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The apex court has asked her to apologise to the CM for the meme. She was arrested on May 10 by the West Bengal Police under section 500 of the IPC. The complaint was filed by a Trinamool Congress leader Vibhas Hazrafor for posting a morphed picture of the CM with Priyanka Chopra’s Met Gala’s look.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court said, “Your freedom of speech ends when it infringes upon others’ rights”. Someone’s feelings have been hurt. There has to be an apology.”

The court further said, “She is a member of the political party. Elections are going on. At this stage, we are not on the aspect of criminal law. We are asking for an apology because it is election time.”
