Soorarai Pottru Trailer: Suriya Shines As A Man With Sky-High Vision

The trailer of Suriya’s much-anticipated film Soorarai Pottru was released on Monday. The film is based on the life of Air Deccan founder Capt. G. R. Gopinath, a retired Army captain. He had founded the low-cost Deccan airline. Suriya plays the role of Gopinath in the film.

Suriya took to Twitter to share the new trailer. He wrote, “A dream to fly! Here’s #Soorarai PottriTrailer (sic).”

In the trailer, Suriya is a man with a mission. As Capt. G. R. Gopinath he dreams to make air travel an affordable affair for all Indians. It is all about how a man from a village, takes on mighty politicians, businessmen and bureaucrats to realise his dream of launching his own airlines.

Soorarai Pottru is based on the autobiography Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey. The book was written by Captain G R Gopinath, who chronicled the struggles that he faced to launch a low-cost airline service.

The movie also features, Aparna Balamurali, Dr M Mohan Babu, Paresh Rawal, Urvashi, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna, Krishna Kumar and Kaali Venkat. The film was set to hit the screens on April 9 but was delayed due to COVID-19 lockdown. The makers decided to take the digital route and premiere on October 30 but got delayed due to pending NOC approvals. With the approvals in place, Soorarai Pottru will start streaming from November 12 on Amazon Prime Video.
