According to reports, Mark Zuckerberg has asked his employees not to use iPhones. For many, it could be a rational decision considering Android’s reach but it might have to do with Tim Cook’s public comments during a joint MSNBC and Recode interview following Apple’s education event.

Facebook CEO- Mark Zuckerberg has been all over the news since the Cambridge Analytica controversy broke out and while problems didn’t cease to exist for the Facebook CEO after that. As per a new report, Zuckerberg is reportedly upset over Tim Cook’s remarks about him and Facebook, and have ordered his employees to use Android phones instead of iPhones.

In an article that was published by New York Time, titled ‘Delay, Deny and Deflect: How Facebook’s Leaders Fought Through Crisis’, it was detailed how Mark Zuckerberg was furious over some comments by Apple’s Tim Cook and the measures he took to come back at him.

However, it should be noted that during an MSNBC interview, Tim Cook said, “We’re not going to traffic in your personal life. Privacy to us is a human right. It’s a civil liberty”. When he asked about what he will do if he was in Mark Zuckerberg’s situation, the Apple CEO said, “I wouldn’t be in this situation.”

Meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg replied to Tim Cook’s comments during an interview in Recode that he found Cook’s comments to be ‘extremely glib’, and further added, “I think it’s important that we don’t all get Stockholm syndrome and let the companies that work hard to charge you more convince you that they actually care more about you. Because that sounds ridiculous to me.”

Apparently, all this didn’t go down well with the Facebook CEO, which eventually resulted in issuing an order for his employees to use Android phones instead of iPhones.

But some reports also suggested that this decision was taken keeping in mind that Android is a widely used operating system and has more reach than iPhones. Even companies like Snapchat also encourages its employees for using Android phones as it helps in developing apps for the masses.
