The commission has also instructed the state’s chief secretary to submit a report within six weeks along with the proof of payment. The commission had earlier registered a case on February 5 after reading about the incident on different media outlets.

It stated reports The Indian Express that during the course of its enquiry the UP government had provided enough documents to substantiate the allegations against the police officers involved. A chargesheet has also been submitted against the sub-inspector on the matter.

It also further informed that “efforts are being made to arrest the remaining three accused police personnel, including a sub-inspector and two constables”.
