Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) vice-president Champat Rai on Wednesday announced that they will organise ‘Dharma Sabhas’ on November 25. The ‘Dharma Sabhas’ will be held in four cities followed by three-hour long prayer meeting at almost 5,000 locations across the country in order to show strength in Ayodhya.

“The group is working to mobilise 100,000 people for the rally at Bada Bhaktmal ki Bagiya. The November 25 rally will be the biggest congregation of Ram Bhakts in Ayodhya after the kar seva in 1992”, VHP regional spokesperson Sharad Sharma said.

Taking a dig at Supreme Court recent Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid judgment, Rai said that the apex court took six years to open the files of such significant case. He also said that the issue was not taken seriously and several months were wasted in useless debates when it was taken up for hearing.

VHP vice-president Rai accused the Congress leader and lawyer Kapil Sibal and lawyer Rajiv Dhawan of “delaying” the case, adding that at the ‘Dharma Sabhas’ they would also ask Sibal in what capacity he requested for the hearings to be held after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. “Had he not made that mistake, the matter would have been solved this year itself,” Rai told The Indian Express.

Adding on Rai said, “The government should tell the court that this is the priority of the country.” he said, adding that it is their clear demand that if one Constitutional body is hesitant, then another should come forward to make a law.

“Logon ko bhram na raha ho ki yeh vishaya khatam ho gaya hai…Logon ko vishwas diladein ki vishay is alive (People must be made to believe that the issue is still alive),” Rai added.

On Tuesday, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya quoted by The Indian Express as saying, “Mandir bhavya banayenge lekin tareek Rahul Gandhi batayenge… (We will build a grand temple but Rahul Gandhi will set the date”. He had also said that no building or memorial would be constructed in the name of Babar at the place where Ram was born.
