Revealed: Vicky Kaushal’s intriguing clean shaven look from Udham Singh biopic

Vicky Kaushal has time and again proved his mettle in movies like ‘Masaan’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Sanju’, ‘Manmarziyaan’ and the latest ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. The intense actor has earned an enviable fan following all thanks to his acting chops. Now the handsome hunk is busy with the shoot of his upcoming film a biopic on freedom fighter Udham Singh and the first look of the actor is out on the web.

A tribute to the unsung hero! Here's the exciting first look of #VickyKaushal in and as #SardarUdhamSingh, a magnum opus biopic directed by #ShoojitSircar, produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, a Rising Sun Films Production. Releasing in 2020, *Sardar Udham Singh* is written by Ritesh Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya.

In the pictures, we can see a clean-shaven Vicky Kaushal looking intently at something or someone. He is dressed in a long overcoat and walking on a street.

The Udham Singh biopic will be directed by Shoojit Sircar.

For those unaware, Sardar Udham Singh is a story of a daring martyr who assassinated Michael O’ Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab in pre-Independence India, to avenge the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar which happened in the year 1919. The nationalist as part of the Ghadar Party had mobilized Indians abroad to overthrow colonial rule. On his return, he was arrested for possession of unlicensed arms. Upon his release from prison, he escaped to Germany and then traveled to London. On March 13, 1940, he shot O’Dwyer dead. He was convicted of murder and hanged at Pentonville Prison on July 31, 1940.

The first schedule of Sardar Udham Singh kick-started in London before moving to Russia. The film is aiming for a 2020 release and an exact release date is yet to be finalized.
