Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who has been on a record-breaking spree off-late has been tipped by former Australian captain Steve Waugh to surpass all batting milestones barring the legendary Don Bradman’s monumental average of 99.99.

He’s (Virat Kohli) got the passion and hunger, the fitness, the desire, the intensity and he loves playing the game. Unless he gets seriously injured, I think he’ll break all the batting records besides Bradman’s average,” said Waugh, as quoted by Cricket Australia.

The recently concluded ODI series between India and the West Indies was a record-breaking one for the Indian captain, who has now established himself to be one of the modern-day greats with the willow in hand.

Apart from being the first Indian batsman to score three back-to-back hundreds, Kohli’s biggest achievement from the series was becoming the fastest to score 10,000 runs in ODIs, surpassing greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid amongst many others.

Playing his 213th ODI, Kohli made a sparkling 157 of 129 balls as he registered his 37th hundred in the 50-over format. Overall, he aggregated a total of 453 runs in the five-match series.

The maverick batsman nonetheless has been rested from the ongoing T20I series against the West Indies and would join the side in Australia.
