PUBG fans in India may now have something to worry about. As per reports, the government may soon ban PUBG in India. Moreover, as many as 275 apps may soon be facing a ban in India according to the latest reports. After banning 59 Chinese apps, the Indian government is considering banning the popular battle royale format game over data security concerns. The Indian government has already banned popular apps like TikTok and UC Browser citing the data security breaches.

PUBG is currently one of the most popular smartphone mobile games in India as well as many other countries. The app has over 175 million downloads in India itself. PUBG has been developed by a South Korean video game company called Bluehole. However, Chinese multinational conglomerate Tencent holds a considerable amount of share in the popular game.

PUBG is not the only app on the radar of the Indian government owing to alleged data-sharing practices with the Chinese government. This is not the first time PUBG faces a ban within India. It was earlier temporarily banned by several state governments for its addictive nature. This move came about after several complaints from parents and guardians.

This led PUBG to assure to take feedback from parents, educators, and government organizations to create a safe ecosystem that would enhance the game playing experience.

Meanwhile, PUBG has already faced a ban in Pakistan earlier this month on grounds of its addictive nature. However, the ban was later lifted by a Pakistan court on July 26.
