The COVID-19 pandemic lockdown has pushed Bollywood filmmakers to release their projects on online streaming giants such as Netflix, Hot Star and other platforms. For more than two months, the entire film industry has been closed and several projects were on kept on hold. Films such as ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, ‘Gunjan Saxena’ and few among others are now releasing on OTT platforms, as the lockdown is likely to be extended. Now, we have got our hands on the reports which state that the makers of Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’ are considering releasing the film on OTT platform.

As per the latest report in Pinkvilla, a source has informed them, “Though there are a few shooting days left for the film, the makers are very well aware of the post unlock situation wherein theatre-goers might be apprehensive to go in crowded places. Keeping all this in mind, the producers are in talks with Hotstar to get a direct digital release, given that further delay will only add to the production cost. The makers are trying to crack a good deal with the platform. Talks are currently on a primary stage.”

In the latest update of lockdown in Maharashtra, the state officials have given permission to the filmmakers to resume shooting with guidelines. The producers of Bollywood films would have to take permission in order to start the shooting of their projects. As per the reports, the makers of ‘Bhuj’ might consider shooting the pending part of the film, in order to release it soon.

Talking about the film, ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’ is set in the backdrop of war, and the film is being helmed by Abhishek Dudhaiya. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Nora Fatehi, and others in the key roles.
