When the temperature dropped by 2-degree Celsius on November 21, Donald Trump took to Twitter and wrote “Brutal and Extended Cold Blast could shatter ALL RECORDS. Whatever happened to Global Warming?”
But like always, his tweet did not go down well by a teenager girl and she decided to explain him that ‘Climate is not weather’ and she nailed it. The girl identified as Astha Sarmah, who belongs to Jorhat, Assam.
She wrote on Twitter, “I am 54 years younger than you. I just finished high school with average marks. But even I can tell you that WEATHER IS NOT CLIMATE. If you want help understanding that, I can lend you my encyclopedia from when I was in 2nd grade. It has pictures and everything.”

The comment gained momentum on Twitter and in no time it received around 25,000 like and over seven thousand retweets. She has been receiving appreciation from US users saying that Astha is a “hope of the future”. Several users even offered her an internship to study the effects of climate change on the Arabian Sea.
Netizens can’t stop appreciating Astha, one user wrote, “Thank you for this tweet Astha. There’s still hope for America and the world.”
This is not the first time, US President’s views on climate change have been quite irrational in the past too.
Eight years back, Trump had tweeted that Global warming was a concept created by and for China in order to make the US manufacturing non-competitive.
On Monday, he quashed a report by his own administration, involving more than 300 leading climate scientists. He had said, “He doesn’t believe in it (report).”
