This tweet did not go down well with Twitter users who targeted Babita after then statement. The hashtag #suspendbabitaphogat started trending in the wake of the event. However, Babita is not without her supporters. She has been receiving support and encouragement from plenty of twitter users.

Meanwhile, Babita Phogat has stated that she stands by what she said. “I stand by my tweets, I wrote nothing wrong,” she told ANI.

In a video posted on Twitter, she said: “Over the past few days, I posted a few tweets (on Tablighi Jamaat). After that, I started getting threats on my social media handles. I would like to say that I am no Zaira Wasim. I would not get threatened…. I have always fought for my country. I stand by my tweets…. I wrote nothing wrong.”

Meanwhile, Zaira Wasim may have taken to her social media account to reply to Babita Phogat. While Zaira hasn’t taken Babita’s name anywhere in the post, it is likely that the post is directed towards the female wrestler.

She wrote, “While I acknowledge with humility all the love people shower me with. I cannot emphasise enough how the praise that comes my way isn’t gratifying at all for me and how big of a test it is for me and how dangerous it is for my Iman. I’m not as righteous as I might lead many to believe.”
