Sprinter Dutee Chand thinks Kangana Ranaut is perfect for her biopic; here’s Kangana’s reply
Dutee Chand said that she has been approached by many filmmakers and actors for the rights of her biopic.
Bollywood filmmakers have tried their hands on sports biopic and some have really done well. They are always keen on making biopics on popular athletes who have left a mark in their respective sports. Movies like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom, and Dangal among others were successful at the box office and also won the hearts of audiences and critics alike. Many filmmakers are now interested in making a biopic on Asian Games silver medalist Dutee Chand.
During her interview with Bombay Times, Dutee revealed that many filmmakers and actors have approached her for the rights. She said, “I have got requests from so many filmmakers who are keen to make my biopic, but I haven’t given the nod yet. Apart from Anil Kapoor and Rakeysh Mehra, a lot of actors and actresses have independently reached out. With the number of requests coming my way, lagta hai meri story bahut hit hogi.”
When Dutee was asked whom she would like to play her character, she said, “I think Priyanka Chopra did a very good job in Mary Kom. While I don’t know who will eventually be selected, I think Kangana Ranaut can portray me perfectly on screen, I like her as an actress.” To which Kangana replied, “That’s very kind of Duteeji. I am humbled that she feels I am worthy of playing her.”
Kangana Ranaut has already played an athlete in Tanu Weds Manu Returns and she nailed the role in the movie. One of her upcoming movies is a sports drama Panga where she is playing a kabaddi player. So, in that case, the Queen actor will be perfect to star in Dutee Chand’s biopic.
