India condemns terror attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi

India on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi in which at least two police officials were killed.

In a statement, the External Affairs Ministry (MEA) said, “India strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi this morning. We condole the loss of lives in this dastardly attack. There can be no justification whatsoever for any act of terrorism.”

“The perpetrators of this heinous attack should be brought to justice expeditiously. Such terrorist attacks only strengthens the resolve of the international community to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” it added.

Meanwhile, China has also strongly the attack on Chinese consulate in Pakistan. Chinese foreign ministry said, “They strongly condemn the attack on their consulate in Pakistan.” “All staff working in China’s consulate in the Pakistani city of Karachi are safe,” China’s foreign ministry added.

Notably, at least two police officials were killed and another injured in an attack outside the Chinese consulate in Karachi’s Clifton Block 4. According to a report published in Pakistan-based news channel Dawn, following an explosion the gunshots were also heard in the area. The exchange of firing is still underway. So far three terrorists have been killed.
