Jammu and Kashmir: At least two terrorists shot dead; identity yet to be known
At least two terrorists were gunned down on Saturday early morning in a fierce encounter that took place in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter spot.
After receiving a specific input about the presence of an unspecified number of terrorists, the troopers of 55 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), 180/183 BN CRPF and SOG jointly launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Tikken village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The holed-up terrorists were challenged by the troopers after which an encounter started. Two terrorists were eliminated. The security forces also recovered one each of Insas rifle and AKM from the site of the encounter. The operation is concluded and no collateral damage reported. The identity of slain terrorists is yet to be ascertained.

Prior to this on Friday, a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The slain terrorist was identified as a Pakistani national and he was using a code name, Anwar.
Previously, security forces eliminated two terrorists belong to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in a fierce encounter that took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. The slain terrorists were identified as Mohammad Idrees Sultan alias Chota Abrar, a resident of Safanagri Shopian and Amir Hussain Rather alias Abu Sobaan, a resident of Awneera Shopian.
