Kriti Sanon bags ‘Raees’ director Rahul Dholakia’s thriller

Actress Kriti Sanon after the super success of her last release ‘Luka Chuppi’ is all set for her next. She has bagged her first thriller that is being directed by Rahul Dholakia of Raees fame. The as yet untitled film is being produced by Sunir Kheterpal for Azure Entertainment.

The movie is drawing inspiration from real-life events in order to place them in a fictional set-up in Mumbai. It is slated to go on floor from August this year and will be a start to finish schedule. Earlier this year Sunir had produced Badla featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles. The Red Chillies co-production went on to be a blockbuster.

Confirming the news Kriti said, “I play a media professional for which the research has already started. I can’t wait to start shooting for this film. It’s an entertainer with a powerful core idea and will connect with audiences without being preachy.”

Author-cum-screenwriter Bilal Siddiqi, of ‘Bard of Blood’ fame, will pen the script. The will have generous amounts of VFX and thus, the makers are bringing professionals from a noted special effects studio in South Korea. The film will be ready for release in early 2020.

On the work front, Kriti Sanon also has Farhad Samji’s ‘Housefull 4’ with Akshay Kumar, Rohit Jugraj’s ‘Arjun Patiala’ co-starring Diljit Dosanjh and Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Panipat’ with Arjun Kapoor. Sunir is also producing director Jeethu Joseph’s Bollywood debut film starring Emraan Hashmi, Rishi Kapoor, and Sobhita Dhulipala and Anurag Kashyap’s helmed thriller starring Taapsee Pannu towards the end of 2019.
