Ahead, of the interview, the official page of CBS shared a new teaser clip, in which Winfrey recalls the time she called the dutchess for an interview, ahead of her 2018 royal wedding to Prince Harry and she refused to do so and at the time, Meghan politely turned down and said that “perhaps there will be another time when there’s the right time.”

In the clip, Meghan said that she was not allowed to have the conversation with her personally as there were other people in the room when she was having that conversation.

Later, Oprah also asked why she decided to speak about it this time. “What is right about this time?” Winfrey asked Meghan.

Meghan said, “Well, so many things.” She added that right now there are on the other side of a lot of and they have experienced a lot of life, and they also have the ability to make their own choices in a way that she couldn’t have said yes to Oprah then.

She said that refusing Oprah’s interview in 2018 wasn’t her choice.

Meghan said that she has lived a really independent life as an adult. “Then go into this construct that is different than I think what people expect it to be, it’s really liberating to be able to have the right and the privilege in some ways to be able to say yes, I’m ready to talk,” she concluded.

‘Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special.’ will air on March 7 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
