Ankita Lokhande & Ekta Kapoor to bring back ‘Pavitra Rishta 2’ as tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput: report
Reports state Ekta Kapoor and Ankita Lokhande are planning to make a new season on 'Pavitra Rishta 2.'
Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande became a household name with Ekta Kapoor’s show, titled, ‘Pavitra Rishta.’ The show ended in October 2014, now, the latest reports state, Ankita Lokhande has reportedly approached producer Ekta to make a second season for ‘Pavitra Rishta’ as a tribute to SSR.

A report in Mumbai Mirror states, “The show was close to Sushant’s heart as it gave him the platform to scale new heights and both Ekta and Ankita feel that a new season will be the best tribute to the deceased actor.”
“Ekta has spearheaded several sequels on TV, including ‘Hum Paanch’, ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ and ‘Naagin’. It was Ankita who approached Ekta with the idea and since ‘Pavitra Rishta’ is a special show for her too, she immediately agreed. She will sit with her team of writers and explore how to take the daily soap forward.” said the source.
Sushant fell in love with Ankita on the sets of the show and dated for nearly six years, however, the two separated their ways in 2016 breaking the hearts of their fans.
The show followed the story of a car mechanic Manav, played by Sushant Singh Rajput, who falls in love with Archana, played by Ankita Lokhande.
After SSR’s demise, ‘Pavitra Rishta’ has been re-released on the streaming platform, ZEE5.
On SSR’s one-month-anniversary, Ankita took to her Instagram handle to remember the late actor by lighting a small ‘diya’ (lamp) with flowers in front of her house temple, she captioned the photo, “CHILD Of GOD 😇(sic)” This is for the first time that Ankita has posted anything about Sushant ever since Sushant left for heavenly abode.
