TV Actress Preksha Mehta Dies At 25
She had earlier posted a message on her Instagram story that hinted at her mental struggle
After the tragic news about TV actor Manmeet Grewal committing suicide, the TV industry has suffered another loss in the form of Preksha Mehta. She was a popular TV actor known for her roles in prominent shows like Crime Patrol, Meri Durga and Laal Ishq. The 25-year-old actor has reportedly committed suicide at her residence in Indore.
Zee News has reported that the Hiranagar police station in-charge, Rajiv Bhadauria, has stated that the actor had been suffering from depression for a while. The reports also state Preksha Mehta was found hanging from a ceiling fan by her family members. In addition, the actor also left a suicide note that explained her struggle with her career and relationships.
“During our initial investigation, we believe that she was suffering from depression. We are carrying out a detailed investigation in this case,” Rajiv Bhadauria said.
He also said that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Mehta had earlier posted a message on her Instagram story that hinted at her mental struggle. This was just hours before her death.
“Sabse bura hota hai, sapnon ka mar jaana (The death of the dreams is the worst),” she posted on the unverified account.
Preksha had recently returned to her hometown from Mumbai.
The COVID-19 outbreak has been tough and many are unable to find work due to the lockdown. This is the second case where a TV actor has committed suicide due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Earlier this month, actor Manmeet Grewal committed suicide after coming under immense financial pressure. He was known for shows like Aadat Se Majboor and Kuldeepak.
