Actress Priyanka Chopra added one more feather to her already glittering cap after becoming an investor in two-technology based companies.
The Quantico and Baywatch star, who has also delivered several Bollywood hits over the years is said to have joined hands with two tech companies that will strive to expand the gender diversity in the tech world, while also making a social impact in the society, reported Times Now.
Talking about her new investment, Priyanka in an extensive interview with New York Times said, “You just hang out and you’re learning. It’s amazing. Geeks are taking over the world. If they haven’t already.”
The actress was also super excited for the new chapter of her life and she captioned a post and wrote, “A new chapter for me! I am so excited to partner with @bumble and @holbertonschool as an investor. I’m honoured to join two companies that strive to expand gender diversity in the tech space, and make a social impact for the greater good… let’s do this!!”
The 36-year-old newly-wed actress has decided to invest in a dating and social media app Bumble, which is founded by Whitney Wolfe Herd. Chopra, who was introduced to the technology world by her manager Anjula Acharia, will also be helping with the launching of the app in India in the months that follow. Her other investment involves the technology-based coding education company Holberton School.
“The campus (of Holberton School) resembles a WeWork more than a school, with open-plan rows of desks, decorative neon lights and meeting rooms named after famous people. The school uses projects and group learning instead of more traditional courses, to teach software development,” said a report in the NY Times.
Her film ‘A Kid Like Jake,’ in which she plays a single mother friend of the protagonist family, opened to mixed reviews on June 1 earlier this year. Priyanka has also been shooting for her upcoming film ‘The Sky is Pink’ with Farhan Akhtar and has also been signed for the Hollywood film Cowboy Ninja Viking co-starring Chris Pratt.
