Manchester City and Raheem Sterling fail to agree on the long term deal that ensures his stay at the club till 2022. No more negotiations will take place until England side returns from their World cup base camp in Repino. With their first match at the FIFA World cup just a week away, the deal finalization will virtually take place only after the World Cup.

His manager feels he should be amongst the side’s top earners alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi. De Bruyne had agreed to a new six year deal in January with 350,000 pounds per week including bonuses.

Raheem Sterling arrived from Liverpool in 2015 at a record fee of 44 million pounds. He finished as the fifth top scorer in Premier League this season, just 3 goals behind the top scorer Sergio Aguero.
