Gadkari asks, where are the jobs? Rahul mocks him

Rahul Gandhi has emerged as one of the cunning leaders in the country, who knows how to make a point in the political arena and use the situation appropriately. In a latest incident, the Congress president praised Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for questioning the Union and Maharashtra government on the latest job scenario of the country.

Taking to twitter, Gandhi made a sarcastic comment on the Gadkari’s tweet in which he questioned both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the condition of jobs. After Gadkari asked “where are the jobs”, Gandhi tweeted, “Excellent question, Gadkariji.”

The comments were made after Gadkari’s quote, reported by PTI, in which he spoke about the ongoing Maratha reservation row. He had said, “Let us assume the reservation is given. But there are no jobs. Because in banks, the jobs have shrunk because of IT. The government recruitment is frozen. Where are the jobs?”

Gadkari was of the opinion that in recent times ‘backwardness is becoming political interest’, reports Indian Express. He had questioned on socio-economic thinking of the country and said that it must not be politicised. He said, “Everyone says I am backward. In Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, Brahmins are strong. They dominate politics. (And) They say they are backward. So one school of thought is that a poor is poor, he has no caste, creed or language. Whatever may be the religion — Muslim, Hindu or the Maratha (a caste), in all communities there is one section which has no clothes to wear, no food to eat. One school of thought also is (that) we must also consider the poorest of the poor section in every community.”

Gadkari said, “My attention has been drawn to certain media reports attributed to me. There is absolutely no thinking at the central government to change the reservation criteria from castes to economic conditions.”

The ongoing Maratha quota stir had taken eight lives till now, with several attempts being reported statewide. The Marathas have been demanding reservation in state government jobs and education sector.
