’83 Poster: Ranveer Singh unveils poster of his upcoming sports drama

Kabir Khan directorial ’83′ is going to hit the screens soon. The movie is being lauded as the biggest sports film of the year. The movie chronicles the iconic win of India in the 1983 World Cup. Today, Ranveer Singh shared a fresh poster of ’83.’

Sharing the fresh new poster on his Instagram handle, Ranveer captioned, “It’s coming 🏏🏆 @83thefilm”

The poster was slightly plain. It has the film’s name written in the colors of flame – golden and orange tones. The poster got much appreciation from industry colleagues and supporters.

Sharing his excitement about the film, Ranveer told Hindustan Times, “I was born at the time when cricket was big time. When Kabir Sahab (director Kabir Khan) had come to me and said that there will be a film on 83, I was like finally. And when he was narrating it to me, I was like woooh. It is not a story just about cricket but a human story.”

Talking about the movie, the film ’83 displays the iconic win of the Indian cricket team at the 1983 world cup against the West Indies. It was this special moment when they created history and picked up the World Cup for the first time.

It also features to Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, While Deepika Padukone will be seen in a cameo avatar playing Romi, Kapil Dev’s wife. ’83 is helmed by Kabir Khan and co-produced by Madhu Mantena, Sajid Nadiadwala and Reliance Entertainment. The film is all set to hit the theaters on 10 April 2020.
