Rohit Shekhar Tiwari’s wife, Apoorva Shukhla Tiwari has been arrested for the murder of her husband. Delhi Police had interrogated her at her residence for three days. Police said that Rohit was allegedly murdered with the help of a pillow. News agency ANI reported saying that Apoorva killed Rohit when he was drunk. She was arrested by the police today.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Rajiv Ranjan told IANS, “We have arrested Apoorva with the help of scientific evidence and FSL report. She confessed that she has murdered her husband and cited unhappy marriage as the reason.”
“She entered Rohit’s room on April 16 and executed the crime. She later destroyed the evidences. All this happened within one-and-half hours,” added Mr. Ranjan.
On Sunday, the crime branch took Apoorva, a maid and a servant took for interrogation. The Delhi Police officials told ANI, “She was unhappy with the marriage, Apoorva smothered him while Rohit was drunk. She committed the crime herself without any help. She will be produced in the court soon.”
For the unversed, Rohit who was 40 at the time of death and was reported to have died of a cardiac arrest. On April 12, he went to Uttarakhand to vote and returned on April 15 night. On the CCTV footage, he was seen taking the help of the wall as he was trying to walk; apparently, he was drunk.
On April 16 when Rohit’s mother Ujjwala Tiwari was at the Max Hospital for some treatment, she received a call saying that Rohit was not well and bleeding from his nose. After that, she brought her son to the hospital in an ambulance.
Reportedly, Rohit’s mother told police that Apoorva, her daughter-in-law wanted to take her son’s property along with her family.
Rohit fought a battle for six long years to prove that he is the biological son of ND Tiwari, the late chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
