Salman Khan reacts to Priyanka Chopra quitting Bharat

It was surprise to all the Bollywood followers when team Bharat announced that Priyanka Chopra won’t continue with the project.  Ali Abbas Zafar announced the news on Twitter. Bharat which has Salman Khan in the lead role and would have been Priyanka’s come back after the gap of two years in Bollywood.

There were some rumors that Salman was annoyed with Priyanka for backing out in the last moment and has decided to never work with her again. But Salman’s father Salim Khan has refused the rumors and claimed them to be false. He said, ‘Salman wasn’t upset at all and that these things happen in the industry all the time’.

At the trailer launch of Loveratri, Salman Khan was asked about his reaction when Priyanka decided to leave the project to which he replied, “I am really happy for her. Uss waqt hum ko ye pata chalta ke unhone wahan par koi bahut badi film sign ki hai aur hume thoda pehla pata chalta to hum waise bhi usko kabhi rokte nahi (If we had known then that she has signed a big Hollywood film, we wouldn’t have stopped her from leaving the film). End moment pe pata chala, shooting ke 10 din pehle pata chala. Shooting shuru ho gayi thi meri, par unke schedule se 10 din pehle pata chala ki who picture chhodna chahti hai. (We go to know at the end moment, 10 days before the shooting that she wants to leave the film).”

“We said, of course, if you don’t want to do it, don’t do it. Uss waqt kuch alag reason diye gaye the hame (We were given another reason then..) Jo bhi reason hai, shaadi ka reason ho, ya picture ka reason ho, ya unko India main nahi kaam karna, ya mere saath nahi kaam karna, sirf Hollywood film aur TV show karna hai, wo unka reason hai. (Whatever it is, her wedding, Hollywood film or the fact that she does not want to work with me, it’s her reason.) We are really happy and supportive about her doing good work.”

Even Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu denied the reports which claimed that Salman was upset with Priyanka. She replied referring media, “You people only make such stuff up, Salman is not upset with her.”

Priyanka Chopra is replaced by Katrina Kaif in the film. Bharat also stars Disha Patani and Tabu, and will release in Eid 2019.
