Fashion designer Ramesh Dembla is the latest celebrity to be questioned by the CCB in the ongoing Sandalwood Drug Racket case. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) grilled him for over 10 hours about his contacts with Bollywood actors, VIPs and others. The designer’s name cropped up during the interrogation of actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani. Both are currently lodged in the Central prison in Bengaluru.
Dembla was summoned and questioned by the CCB in connection with the Sandalwood drug racket case on Saturday (September 26). He was interrogated from 12 noon to 9 pm and he gave his statement to the investigating officer. The CCB is now analyzing his phone and other digital gadgets to gather evidence. The fashion designer attended several parties along with Ragini Dwivedi, Sanjjanaa Galrani.
He was reportedly in touch with party organizer Viren Khanna and some other suspects arrested in the drugs case. As reported by sources to Deccan Chronicles, Dembla was first questioned alone and then confronted in the presence of Khanna.
Dembla is a known name in fashion industry for hosting many fashion shows in Bengaluru. A number of popular Bollywood and Sandalwood stars have walked the ramp for his shows as showstoppers.
The hearing of bail petitions of actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani has been postponed to a later date. The two actresses are currently lodged in separate cells in the Central prison.
