Actor Sonu Sood has taken over the Twitter trend as he becomes a beacon of hope for many Migrant Workers hoping to go back to their homes. The Dabangg actor has become the messiah of thousands of helpless migrant workers stuck in Mumbai due to the COVID-19 Lockdown. The actor has been arranging multiple buses to take them back to their home states and villages.

The Bollywood actor’s social media timeline is being flooded with requests from people stuck in various corners of the country. They are urging him to send them home and reunite them with their families. In his initiative called Ghar Bhejo set in collaboration with restaurateur Neeti Goel, Sonu has so far sent over 750 migrant workers in around 20 buses to Karnataka and UP. More and more migrant labourers are getting in touch with him to seek redressal.

Speaking to Mumbai Mirror Neeti Goel said, their bus service is for free and they are also providing food and drinks to the workers on their way back home. The cost of one trip ranges from Rs 64,000 for about 800 km, to Rs 1.8 lakh for 1600 to 2000 km that both Neeti and Sonu are spending from their pockets.

The 46-year-old actor had also donated over 1,500 PPE kits to doctors across Punjab and had provided his Mumbai hotel for the accommodation of the medical forces. He as also been feeding the underprivileged people.
