25 Years of DDLJ: Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol change Twitter names to Raj & Simran
As Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge turns 25, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol update their Twitter names to 'Raj and Simran.'
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is one of the most successful Indian films in history. The film is also considered to be a classic that reinvented love and changed the definition of happily ever after and not just that DDLJ also established Raj and Simran aka Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol as a superhit jodi.
Today, as SRK and Kajol celebrate 25 years of DDLJ, they have changed their Twitter username to Raj Malhotra and Simran. Not just that, they have also changed their profile picture to the character of the film.
Earlier, today, Shah Rukh shared a special video, that showed scenes from the movie on his social media handle as the film completed 25 years, and tweeted as, “25 years!!! Filled with gratitude towards you for loving Raj & Simran, with all your heart. This always feels special. #DDLJ25 @yrf”

Kajol shared the same video and wrote, “Raj & Simran! 2 people, 1 film, 25 years and the love doesn’t stop coming in! I am truly grateful to all the people who made it what it is today.. a phenomenon and a part of their own history. The fans! Big shoutout to all of you #25YearsOfDDLJ @yrf @iamsrk #AdityaChopra”
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was one of only three Hindi films in the reference book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, and was placed twelfth on the British Film Institute’s list of top Indian films of all time.
The film also starred Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Satish Shah, Parmeet Sethi, Mandira Bedi, Pooja Ruparel, and Himani Shivpuri, this also marked the directorial debut of Aditya Chopra.
To celebrate #25YearsOfDDLJ, Heart of London Business Alliance on Monday revealed that a bronze statue of the lead actors SRK and Kajol as Raj and Simran will be unveiled in London. This will be the first-ever Bollywood film statue to be put up in the United Kingdom.
