On Monday, Farhan Akhtar announced on his social media that the trailer of his much-anticipated sports-drama film, ‘Toofan’ and will also star Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in supporting roles. The trailer is set to release tomorrow (June 30)

The story of ‘Toofan’ revolves around the life of Ajju (Farhan) an orphan boy born in Mumbai’s Dongri who grows up to be a local goon. However, his life takes a turn when he meets a bright and compassionate young woman Ananya (Mrunal), who motivates him to find his passion as he begins his journey to becoming Aziz Ali, a boxing champion.

The film will schedule to release on 16 July 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.

After the massive success of ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, this film marks the second collaboration of Farhan with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. ‘Toofan’ will also star Supriya Pathak Kapur, Hussain Dalal, Mohan Agashe, and Darshan Kumaar.  produced by Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar) and ROMP Pictures (Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures)

‘Toofan’ was initially scheduled for release last month. However, due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the makers had decided to postpone the film. It is stated to release in India and across 240 countries and territories.
