The song is composed by Bharadwaj and the lyrics have been penned by Gulzar. It is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and performed by Rekha Bhardwaj. The song is picturised in a village mela and men with rifles stare lecherously at her.
In this song, Malaika makes an appearance after the lead pair discusses job prospects.
The producer of the film, Ajay Kapoor was quoted in Hindustan Times saying, “So when we came up with this track for Pataakha, she was the first one we thought of casting. When I approached her for the song, she was very excited and immediately agreed. We are happy to have her on board and this song is tailor-made for her.”
Ganesh Acharya was quoted in a report by Bollywood Hungama saying, “We have kept the steps of the song earthy to match with the number. It is always a pleasure to choreograph someone like Malaika who is so graceful. She has done a fabulous job in the song and I am sure everyone will love her in it. Malaika has her signature style which her fans love her for and they will get that and much more in the song.The rhythm and lyrics are very catchy and I instinctively feet that it will be a chartbuster.”
The song also stars Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan, Sunil Grover and Vijay Raaz. The film is all set to hit the screens on September 28.
