There were half-centuries from Prithvi Shaw (66), Cheteshwar Pujara (54), skipper Virat Kohli (64), his deputy Ajinkya Rahane (56) and Hanuma Vihari (53). But KL Rahul’s poor run with the bat continued.

India lost their momentum with the bat after Rohit Sharma fell for 40 runs as from being 347/6, they were bundled out for 358. Rishabh Pant remained undefeated on 11.

Cricket Australia in response put together 24 runs on the board by openers D’Arcy Short (10) and Max Bryant (14). With two more days of play left, CA XI would be keen on overhauling this target as they still trail by 334 runs.
